The Lily is separated from the R.C.R. Corral by a large picnic area with numerous large pecan trees providing shade throughout the day. Seating up to 150 people with a 2,000 square foot deck shaded by a 500-year-old Pecan tree, provides for an additional 50. The Lily sits on the banks of the Cibolo overlooking the lighted river and landing dock for the party barge. Nature trails and wagon trails fan out through the miles of shaded riverfront. Next to the Lily is the one-acre herb and flower garden with gazebo, wishing well, fire pit, and pathway leading to the arbor and platform which can be used for weddings or a stage for varied activities. The seating capacity around the arbor is 500. The Lily is an all-weather, air conditioned and heated “Jewel of the Old West” and is available for both day and evening events. |

The 4,500 square feet Zuehl's Hall is a revival of a local original dance hall and saloon. The Ranch's new facility is reminiscent of an authentic German Dance Hall that accommodates groups of up to 200 guests in air conditioned and heated comfort. An additional 75 guests can be accommodated on the spacious deck and patio of the adjacent Zuehl Haus. The facility boasts a large dance floor and stage surrounded by open fixed glass, a dry stack rock fireplace, large bar and large shade Pecan trees. This new entertainment area, Buffalo Bend, has creek access for guests to enjoy. Spectacular views of the creek and waterfall can be seen from the Gardens and new wedding ceremony site. The original Zuehl's Hall was built in 1931 after the Zuehl Bros Mercantile Store was burned to the ground during a robbery. This new store was reconstructed across the street and contained the following: general store, bar/pool hall, dance hall, liquor store, gas station and barbershop. The Hermann Sons Lodge held its' meetings in the hall long ago and now we invite your group to hold its' next meeting or private group function in the newly reestablished Zuehl's Hall.
Attached to Zuehl's Hall is a quaint and newly remodeled German cottage with a kitchen, sitting room and spacious bedroom. Ranch guests are invited to stay the night. Newlywed couples may wish to use the Zuehl Haus as their own private suite after their reception and depart the Ranch well rested before they head to their next destination. |

“The Ranch is surrounded by many gardens and nature trails, a naturalist’s paradise. The Lily Garden, adjacent to the River House is unique and is connected by a natural stone walkway and footbridge. There are many native plants, a butterfly garden and herb garden. This is the site for our Cooking School and many weddings.
Creekside Gardens is our star rose and lavender garden with gazebo, swing, and our unique cow barbecue pit. We have an authentic chuck wagon where we do old west cooking demonstrations. Cibolo Orchard boasts an edible landscape of tomatoes, peppers, herbs, peach trees and pear trees. A gazebo covered with edible vines overlooks a serene view of the Creek.”
PECAN ORCHARD: The Ranch is blessed with a century old pecan orchard with six different species of Texas pecans. We annually harvest our pecans and make tasty items such as pecan pralines, Texas Pecan Pie, and spiced or cinnamon pecans. These recipes and many more are in our Ranch Cookbook “Texas Pecans, The Whole Story, Bits and Pieces.” The Ranch is an active member of the Texas Pecan Growers Association. Come enjoy, relax, play and eat under the cool shade of our orchard!

Cibolo Creek and all its majestic beauty meanders through the Ranch, forming the boundaries of Guadalupe and Bexar Counties Texas. The waterfalls on the Cibolo Creek crash down next to the Creekside pier where our guests have caught many a fish! Our guests can enjoy the sounds of the waterfalls and the beauty of the Creek flowing underneath the 2,000 square foot deck suspended over the banks of the Cibolo from the back door of the Lazy Lily Old West River House. Further upstream past the Cibolo Gardens is the Ranch nature trail where our guests can stroll along the banks of the Cibolo looking at the various species of plants and wildlife, including our resident Blue Herron, an endangered species that has found peaceful refuge on our Ranch. All groups are surely to enjoy a stroll on the Cibolo in one of our 20 passenger barges for a 20 minute ride guided by one of our resident Ranch historians. Guests may see longhorn cattle grazing on the riverbank as well as wild turkey and deer. The barge can be made available for the entire event as you enjoy the Ranch’s own “…little bit of Texas” replica of the San Antonio River. |
